kim culbert photography – Corona Virus update

I’ve been putting off sending out the official notice, but it’s clear that this Corona Virus isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. My heart is breaking for all my clients who were expecting new little ones in April/ May/ June, as kim culbert photography has closed it’s doors until Heath Canada deems it safe to reopen. Working with little ones, safety is always my foremost concern, and with this virus I don’t want to take any risks for your family or mine. I am holding hope for my July and onward babies, but we will just have to wait and see what the future holds in store for us. Best wishes for all of those expanding your families, and I can’t wait until I can snuggle and capture your babies again.

2020 – a year of cuteness so far

2020 has started off with an overload of cuteness in my studio. I love cuddling new babes, and creating portraits of families for them to cherish. One thing I haven’t been great at is keeping up with my blog! I’m hoping to reconnect with my computer in the next few weeks (especially if a quarantine happens because of the COVID-19 virus.) so keep your eyes out for more adorable babies to come.

One thing that I really started exploring in 2019 was the use of composites in my photography. It is quite handy to be able to take a photograph of a little one from their session and then digital place them into various backdrops and props.

Here is a collection of some the composites I’ve done so far this year:

Thanks to all the creative-minded souls that create these beautiful backdrops in the first place. I love the variety it gives my galleries, and takes them to a new level of art.

My first newborn of 2020

I’m posting this a little late, as the start of the year was full of commitments and partly laziness. But this adorable girl needs to have her moments to shine. Little Miss T was gorgeous… a perfect doll.

I did her brother’s images 2 years ago, and so he was all ready to help his sister in her poses.

She is going to be one loved little girl, with her big brother looking out for her, and two amazing parents.

Love is in the air – Coquitlam Newborn Photographer

This little girl made her entrance into the world during one of the nicest springs I can remember. The weather has been unbelievable, allowing beautiful spring blooms to pop up throughout our city.

Little Miss R was 8 days old for our session, and such a dream. She was content to be awake but then drifted off to sleep with no problems.

Enjoy your sneak peek of her session:

t w i n l o v e ~ coquitlam newborn twin photography

I love my job.  I get to cuddle babies, soak in their sweetness, and then give them back to the parents.  Earlier this week I got to get my baby cuddles on in double.  Twins are so special, and I love capturing the bond between them, and the comfort they take in each other. These two sweet girls were just about 5 weeks old when they came to my studio, and we managed to capture some great memories for mom and dad.

Enjoy your sneak peek…

7 weeks old, and such a sweetie – kim culbert photography

Although I love to shoot newborn babies in the first two weeks after being born, sometimes that just doesn’t happen. With older newborns I’m always confident that we will get some great shots, but can’t guarantee the cute snuggly poses of the brand new babes.
Well, this 7 week old was a superstar. She slept like a dream, and smiled when she was awake.
I’ve just started editing the gallery, but here is a sneak peek…

Also, the older newborns get, the more skin issues they can have.  In my editing, I can fix almost all acne, rashes, and dry flakes.

The Magical world of Twins – kim culbert photography

When I was younger I always wanted twins… there is just something magical about their connection. Now that I’m older and I have my two boys, who were 2 years apart, I love capturing the special bond between these little ones. They spent 9 months together, growing, being, and it’s so amazing to see how they react to each other outside the womb.

Christmas Countdown is on!

It’s hard to believe, but December is here.  And those of you with kids know that there is a balance here, between how fast December slips away, and how long it can seem to take to get to Christmas when you have little voices asking each and every minute of every day “When is it Christmas?”

To pass the time, I’ve created an album on my FaceBook page highlighting my amazing clients from the past year.  From brand new babies, to weddings, to just some family love… these people have trusted me to capture their special moments and I feel so happy to have been able to be a part of their memories.

I will also post on my blog each day, counting down, but please feel free to “Like” kim culbert photography on FB and following along there too.

From Inside to Out – Maternity and Newborn Photographer

This sweet couple contacted me in the summer to book their maternity session for September.  They knew that they wanted an outdoor session, and Deer Lake Park was the perfect choice with the variety of backdrops within easy walking distance.  We had a great time strolling down the paths, and along the boardwalk, and I could tell that this couple were made for each other.  They always had smiles on their faces.

She

She is just so stunning.

And then, at the start of November, exactly on her due date, little Mister N decided to show up.  Full of a dark head of hair, 10 fingers, 10 toes and the perfect little mouth, baby N was a dream to photograph.  He slept the entire time, and saved all his pee for after the session.

What a cutie.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Little bundle of love – Coquitlam Newborn Photographer

I had the pleasure of photographing little Miss A last week for her newborn session when she was just 9 days old.  I honestly think I might have the best job in the world, because not much compares to snuggling adorable little babies, like Miss A, capturing their smallness, their uniqueness and then getting to hand them back to their parents.  I love the little yawns, the little smiles, and all the love that I can see in the parents eyes when they bring their baby to me.

Please enjoy your teasers…
