kim culbert photography – Corona Virus update

I’ve been putting off sending out the official notice, but it’s clear that this Corona Virus isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. My heart is breaking for all my clients who were expecting new little ones in April/ May/ June, as kim culbert photography has closed it’s doors until Heath Canada deems it safe to reopen. Working with little ones, safety is always my foremost concern, and with this virus I don’t want to take any risks for your family or mine. I am holding hope for my July and onward babies, but we will just have to wait and see what the future holds in store for us. Best wishes for all of those expanding your families, and I can’t wait until I can snuggle and capture your babies again.

An Oyama Sneak Peek – C&D tie the knot

I had the pleasure of doing David and Christina’s engagement photos in the Okanagan last summer.  I learned that they love a good laugh, and they love deeply.  So it was no surprise that their love for each other transferred from real life to photographs so beautifully.

They got married on June 30th, in unseasonably cool Okanagan weather, but the clouds created such gorgeous light for their images.  And the rain that was threatening never showed up.  Lucky in love, and lucky in life!

I have just returned from the Okanagan, and have started looking through all the wedding photos, and couldn’t wait to share a few from the day.

Enjoy the sneak peek!

A Lovely time for a Wedding – Burnaby and North Vancouver Wedding Photographer

When I was asked to photograph Ali and Aoife’s wedding,  I jumped at the chance.  These two ladies are so full of fun, and have so much love for each other, it’s ridiculous.  And then they mentioned it would be at the Hart House in Burnaby — such a stunning location.

The day turned out to be gorgeous, despite the weather forecast leading up to the event.  Aiofe had friends and family coming all the way from Ireland, so thankfully Vancouver weather decided to play nice. The ladies showed up in a vintage taxi, all decked out for the occasion. Chauffeur Norm did a fabulous job of making them feel special.  An afternoon ceremony, complete with dog ring bearer, went off perfectly in the late afternoon sunshine.  And then it was champagne and congratulations on the grass afterwards.  We headed down the boardwalks for some fun pictures with the kids from the wedding party, and then took our time winding our way back to the reception with just Ali and Aoife.

A big thank you to Tanja Aelbrecht from Tanja and Jelger Photography for second shooting for me. And for Ali and Aoife for letting me be a part of their special day.

Such love … Pitt Meadows Engagement Session

I have a friend named Tracy (who I have photographed her gorgeous family countless times!) and her cousin Jenny was looking for a wedding photographer.  Happily, Tracy pointed Jenny in my direction and we got together to discuss the wedding and see if we were going to be a good fit.  Well, Jenny and Craig are awesome, and we got along so well.  Turns out that Craig’s brother lives in my neighbourhood, and one of the flower girls is going to be a girl from my son’s grade.  What a small world!

Their engagement session took place at the stunning Whonnock Lake in Maple Ridge on a beautiful sunny morning.

I can’t wait for the wedding in a few weeks… this couple is so much fun, and so much in love.  The countdown is on!
