The 2018 Christmas Countdown is on!

Every year I like to highlight my clients, as I love capturing their moments almost as much as they love receiving their images.

This is what Christmas is about… pure love!

I’m sure that Santa won’t mind sharing his cookies with this little cutie!

t w i n l o v e ~ coquitlam newborn twin photography

I love my job.  I get to cuddle babies, soak in their sweetness, and then give them back to the parents.  Earlier this week I got to get my baby cuddles on in double.  Twins are so special, and I love capturing the bond between them, and the comfort they take in each other. These two sweet girls were just about 5 weeks old when they came to my studio, and we managed to capture some great memories for mom and dad.

Enjoy your sneak peek…

Couldn’t wait to join the world – Coquitlam Newborn Photographer

Little Miss S was supposed to be a May baby.  Mom and I had discussed our sessions times, and I had ordered some cute rompers from Italy for the session.  But baby S had other ideas.  And April is such a nice month, with all the spring flowers, and cherry blossoms.

Although she took a while to settle down, once she drifted off to sleep she was a sweetheart to pose.  Here is just a sneak peek of her session.

7 weeks old, and such a sweetie – kim culbert photography

Although I love to shoot newborn babies in the first two weeks after being born, sometimes that just doesn’t happen. With older newborns I’m always confident that we will get some great shots, but can’t guarantee the cute snuggly poses of the brand new babes.
Well, this 7 week old was a superstar. She slept like a dream, and smiled when she was awake.
I’ve just started editing the gallery, but here is a sneak peek…

Also, the older newborns get, the more skin issues they can have.  In my editing, I can fix almost all acne, rashes, and dry flakes.

The Magical world of Twins – kim culbert photography

When I was younger I always wanted twins… there is just something magical about their connection. Now that I’m older and I have my two boys, who were 2 years apart, I love capturing the special bond between these little ones. They spent 9 months together, growing, being, and it’s so amazing to see how they react to each other outside the womb.

Christmas Countdown Continues – kim culbert photography

Christmas Countdown is on!

It’s hard to believe, but December is here.  And those of you with kids know that there is a balance here, between how fast December slips away, and how long it can seem to take to get to Christmas when you have little voices asking each and every minute of every day “When is it Christmas?”

To pass the time, I’ve created an album on my FaceBook page highlighting my amazing clients from the past year.  From brand new babies, to weddings, to just some family love… these people have trusted me to capture their special moments and I feel so happy to have been able to be a part of their memories.

I will also post on my blog each day, counting down, but please feel free to “Like” kim culbert photography on FB and following along there too.

Little bundle of love – Coquitlam Newborn Photographer

I had the pleasure of photographing little Miss A last week for her newborn session when she was just 9 days old.  I honestly think I might have the best job in the world, because not much compares to snuggling adorable little babies, like Miss A, capturing their smallness, their uniqueness and then getting to hand them back to their parents.  I love the little yawns, the little smiles, and all the love that I can see in the parents eyes when they bring their baby to me.

Please enjoy your teasers…

18 days new – Coquitlam Newborn Photographer

I won’t lie… I love newborn sessions best when they are done in the first two weeks after birth.  This is when babies tend to sleep the most, and are the squishiest, and usually have great skin.  Miss A came to my studio a little after the ideal time, but honestly, I would have never known.  She slept all the way through the session — even with my different bowls, buckets and stool props.  She was a dream, and I love the images that we captured of her newness.

Can’t forget some pictures with her parents…

Twice the fun, and twice the love – Twin Newborn Photographer

I don’t get twins in the studio very often, but when I do, I feel blessed.  There is such a bond between twins, it’s truly amazing to see.  It’s always more difficult when you add another tiny human into a photo session, but these two were superstars.  If one was fussing a little, I would just add the other twin next to them, and it was an almost instant settling for both of them.  I even managed to catch a moment of Mister M sucking on his sister’s nose for comfort.

I give kudos to parents of twins as well.  I always said that I wanted twins.  And then I had one baby.  And I thought to myself, “How would I manage with TWO of them at the same time?”  But twin parents just seem to have the knack for taking things in stride and making it work (and making it look easy while doing it.)

So, enjoy your precious little bundles… they won’t be so little forever.
