kim culbert photography – Corona Virus update

I’ve been putting off sending out the official notice, but it’s clear that this Corona Virus isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. My heart is breaking for all my clients who were expecting new little ones in April/ May/ June, as kim culbert photography has closed it’s doors until Heath Canada deems it safe to reopen. Working with little ones, safety is always my foremost concern, and with this virus I don’t want to take any risks for your family or mine. I am holding hope for my July and onward babies, but we will just have to wait and see what the future holds in store for us. Best wishes for all of those expanding your families, and I can’t wait until I can snuggle and capture your babies again.

Christmas Countdown Continues – kim culbert photography

Christmas Countdown is on!

It’s hard to believe, but December is here.  And those of you with kids know that there is a balance here, between how fast December slips away, and how long it can seem to take to get to Christmas when you have little voices asking each and every minute of every day “When is it Christmas?”

To pass the time, I’ve created an album on my FaceBook page highlighting my amazing clients from the past year.  From brand new babies, to weddings, to just some family love… these people have trusted me to capture their special moments and I feel so happy to have been able to be a part of their memories.

I will also post on my blog each day, counting down, but please feel free to “Like” kim culbert photography on FB and following along there too.

7 months and already so handsome! – Coquitlam Family Photographer

Another Baby’s First Year candidate, and Mr. A was a superstar! He had so many great outfits to wear (but also loved baring it all). Seeing him now, I wouldn’t have believed that he was a preemie to start… he’s all boy-chunk these days!  I can’t wait to see him when he turns one, to capture his emerging character.

Fresh and sweet – Coquitlam Newborn Photographer

Still so new and fresh! This little girl was such a star for our session, and her big brother was just so proud.  Such a happy little family!

2 month model – Coquitlam Newborn Photography

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when a mom contacted me to do newborn style photos with her two month old daughter.  Usually my newborn sessions take place within the first 12 days after birth when the baby is super sleepy and poseable.  What I got for my session instead was a gorgeous dark eyed beauty, who had amazing eye contact and lots of happy awake time.  I think this is the fastest I’ve edited a session as well, since she had the most flawless skin.   Enjoy your sneak peek!

Another beautiful girl – Coquitlam Newborn Photography

Two amazingly cute girls came to visit me in the studio last week.  Big sister T was so ready to show off her new baby sister and was quite the helper.  It was fabulous to meet the B family and I have a feeling that mom was ready to meet her little one sooner rather than later with this heat we’ve been having.  I think that this is the first time this year that I haven’t had to crank the heat in my studio for a newborn session!

Enjoy your newly expanded family!

Dainty Little Miss C – Coquitlam Newborn Photography

Little Miss C was a star for our session.  She was a dream to pose, and didn’t mind when I wrapped her in all sorts of fabrics.  And that hair… oh my gosh.  I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a newborn with frosted tips before, but she came out of the womb with style!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Even though it’s Mother’s Day, I feel blessed every day that I have two amazing sons who are such characters, and who make me laugh on a daily basis.  They are helping to mold me into a better person, and I can’t imagine my life without them.
Here’s a shout out to all the great moms out there. To the ones that are just starting out, learning the nuances of what each little sound means; and who maybe sometimes feel like they have no idea what they are doing. To the ones who have loved and lost a child… the heartbreak is unimaginable to me, but I wish you all the strength in the world to not give up.  To each and every mom, I say to you “Do your best, and you will be great.”  That’s all that these little people who look up to us ask for… our best we can be on each given day.  Sometimes your best might just be that you got them dressed and fed… there shouldn’t be any judging as long as you do your best.

Here’s to each and every one of you that is a mom, or love a mom….  enjoy your day!
