It was a Christmas miracle for sure… three very active boys and one sweet girl are in this family and we wanted to try to get a picture of them all looking at the camera, and hopefully smiling. It actually didn’t take that long to get the giggles going, so it was just a matter of timing.
And it just goes to show you that all you need is a second… because here was one second later:
I love their smiles and the fun they’re having… I hope the joys of Christmas fill their house this holiday season.
It’s hard to believe, but December is here. And those of you with kids know that there is a balance here, between how fast December slips away, and how long it can seem to take to get to Christmas when you have little voices asking each and every minute of every day “When is it Christmas?”
To pass the time, I’ve created an album on my FaceBook page highlighting my amazing clients from the past year. From brand new babies, to weddings, to just some family love… these people have trusted me to capture their special moments and I feel so happy to have been able to be a part of their memories.
I will also post on my blog each day, counting down, but please feel free to “Like” kim culbert photography on FB and following along there too.
The weather this April has been amazing… like a preview to summer. It was perfect conditions for a wonderful family session out on the Port Coquitlam Dyke along the Pitt River.
The sun was glinting through the leaves, and the kids were having a good time blowing on the dandelion fluff alongside the path. These kids were so great, and truly had a fun time with each other throughout our session. I love the carefree attitudes that make a session fly by.
I bet I say it every time — I love the Baby’s First Year sessions. I get to watch these amazing little newborns, fresh on this earth, grow into a little person, with such character by the time they are one.
Little Mr. A came early into the world, not waiting for his momma to get her maternity shots done. I got to capture the newness of him, the smiles, the adorable features, so perfect.
6 months later, he came back into the studio… sitting up, sticking his tongue out at me every chance he got, and just enjoying the life. Already his spunky character was starting to show through, and we had a great time capturing his goofiness, and spunky nature.
Fast forward to his 1 year session… this little man has so many expressions, and just takes life as it comes. The range of emotions flash across his face as he takes in the birds in the sky, the dogs passing by, and all the love and cuddles from mom and dad.
We had a fabulous session at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver, and the weather was gorgeous. (it could have been a bit warmer, but really, for March — it was awesome.)
It has been a pleasure watching this little man grow, and I look forward to future years!
I don’t think I mention enough how much I love doing Baby’s First Year sessions… I got to meet this sweet little girl 6 months ago for her newborn session, and now she’s a totally new person– so full of character and curiosity. We had so much fun capturing this stage in her life, and I look forward to capturing her first birthday as well.
It’s so awesome when client’s refer me to their friends, as I love all my clients and have such a great time photographing their families that it really means a lot to have them pass along their experiences. This was the case with Shannon, who saw her friend Jessica’s photos that I did last month of her new little guy.
I am so glad that Shannon and Johnny brought their lovely girls to the studio for a session, as both girls are just cute as buttons.
Older sister R was a little shy at first, but soon enough she was comfortable enough to get in front of the camera and give me some smiles. She sure does love her sister, and that bond is going to be so special throughout her whole life.
Here are some teasers.. enjoy!
